Damen Sustainable Solutions

DAMEN Sustainable solutions is a new company within the DAMEN group. It is the designer and manufacturer of the DAMEN Emission reductions systems. With these systems NOx and particles emissions of Marine combustion engine are reduced significantly. DAMEN has been designing, testing and delivering these systems from 2016. Now it is time to further expand business on new builds, services, repair and retrofit markets and to take the next step with this company.

The role

As a Engineer you are part of a team responsible for the technical content of the inhouse developed Damen Emission Reduction systems. This job is very dynamic, not only you are involved in development and engineering a standard range of systems, you will be also involved in the integration of the systems on board of the vessel. Especially integration of the systems in existing designs will challenge your creativity. Also manufacturing engineering will be an important task to ensure the systems can be manufactured. Being part of a smaller sized company you will be involved in many aspects in the business, from supporting Sales towards services, from development, testing towards certification. In this role you will be supervised by an experienced team of Lead Engineer and Technology Specialist.

Key Accountabilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Engineer systems, in compliance with industrial standards and classification requirements.
  • Provide integration solutions on board of vessels, for new and existing fleet.
  • Be involved in the development and optimization of new technology
  • Ensure the appropriate quality of engineering work until a level where it can be produced
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
  • Support Sales during proposals stage
  • Contribute to the class and authorities' approval processes

Skills & Experience:

  • You are enthusiastic, open, communicative and a real team player;
  • You are eager to develop your skills and knowledge of new technology;
  • You are a proactive, result-oriented, with initiative taking ownership and would like to challenge yourself
  • You have a degree in mechanical / shipbuilding engineering or other relevant industry
  • You have a good command of English and Dutch, both written and spoken;
  • You have sufficient experience with 2d/3D CAD tooling
  • You have sufficient experience with various MS Office programmes.
