At Rabobank, we are committed to ensuring a secure and compliant financial system. As a Business Architect in the Financial Economic Crime (FEC) Tech, you will contribute directly to the design of systems and processes that help prevent, detect, and investigate financial crime. Your work will play a crucial role in FEC Investigations and the platforms we use within FEC, supporting investigations into money laundering, fraud, and other financial and economic crimes. This is an exciting role for someone who is eager to learn and has a passion for conceptual thinking. You will work alongside an experienced team, including other architects, developing solutions that bridge business needs with technological capabilities. With functional guidance from FEC Area Architects, you will help design and improve the business architecture that supports the critical work of FEC Investigations and the Platforms within FEC, while also enhancing your own skills and expertise.

You and your role

As a Business Architect, you are working with a team of business stakeholders on the development of architectural frameworks that enhance the operations of Rabobank's FEC Investigations and FEC platforms. You will be responsible for translating high-level strategies into actionable solutions, requiring a mix of strategic thinking, accountability, and flexibility to adapt to shifting business needs and regulatory landscapes. Your leadership qualities will be essential, not only to steer your own projects but also to influence stakeholders and guide teams across FEC and the wider bank. You’ll take ownership of your work, manage deliverables, and ensure the alignment of business goals with technical solutions. Your responsibilities include:
  • FEC Investigations Architecture Design and getting change into motion: Develop and manage business architecture frameworks that drive improvements in the FEC Investigations function. You will work with a team of business stakeholders to design systems that align with Rabobank’s broader strategic objectives and enhance the ability to investigate and mitigate financial crime. Your ability to take initiative and execute with minimal oversight is critical.
  • Platform Development & Accountability for FEC: Work on the transformation and optimization of FEC platforms including both business function-related like anti-money laundering (AML) systems, CDD platforms, and fraud detection tools, as well as shared platforms that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of FEC. You will be accountable for ensuring that these platforms meet the needs of the stakeholders while adhering to compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders & Autonomous Leadership: Engage directly with stakeholders while maintaining leadership and ownership over architecture-related projects. You will collaborate closely with Area Architects to ensure alignment but will have the flexibility and autonomy to drive your own initiatives.
  • Process Optimization & Flexibility in Investigations: Lead initiatives to optimize investigative processes, using innovative technologies like automation, machine learning, and data analytics. Your flexibility and ability to adapt to evolving financial crime threats will allow you to implement forward-thinking solutions that improve investigative efficiency and accuracy.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all architecture and platform enhancements comply with AML, CTF, and other financial crime regulations. You will take ownership of ensuring that these solutions are not only compliant but also future-proofed to adapt to regulatory changes.

You and your skills

We are looking for a technology leader and accountable business architect with a passion for driving strategic change. You should be comfortable working independently while demonstrating strong leadership qualities and an ability to engage with multiple stakeholders. You will need a flexible approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt your solutions to meet evolving business and regulatory needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications in business architecture (e.g., TOGAF) or financial crime prevention (e.g., CAMS, CFE) are advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience in business architecture, business analysis, or a similar role, ideally within the financial services industry.
  • Leadership & Influence: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders across various teams.
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: A flexible mindset, able to adjust solutions in response to shifting business needs or regulatory changes.
  • Conceptual Thinking: A strong conceptual thinker, capable of translating high-level strategies into practical solutions.

You and your department

Rabobank values individuals who take initiative, work independently, and lead with confidence. This role provides you with the opportunity to take full ownership of architectural projects while benefiting from the support and guidance of senior leaders and Area Architects.
  • Autonomous Role with Leadership Opportunities: You will have the flexibility to manage your own projects, take full ownership of key deliverables, and influence the direction of FEC Investigations architecture at Rabobank.
  • Professional Growth & Learning: Rabobank offers a supportive environment for continuous learning and development, with opportunities to collaborate with Area Architects and senior leaders in financial crime prevention.
  • Meaningful Impact: Be part of a team that plays a critical role in protecting Rabobank and its customers from financial crime, with opportunities to implement solutions that have a real-world impact.
Please note: Depending on the candidate's experience and skillset, we apply a competitive compensation based on either scale 10 or 11 of Rabobank's CLA.
