ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Within the Supply Chain function sit our Planning teams. With a population of over 300 people, these teams are a competitor leading, purpose-built Global Hub, covering a multitude of Planning areas where we share best practice in a centralized and standard way to deliver industry-leading service at best cost and the right level of inventory. Our Global Supply Planning team is an important part of Coty’s business. Sitting within the Planning zone of the Supply Chain function, the team is responsible for ensuring our products are made and delivered to the right distribution centres, on time and in full. This is achieved by delivering the best balance of service, inventory, cost, and sustainability, that delivers the Company’s revenue and cash flow objectives.

PURPOSE:

The Data Business Process Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining the quality, integrity, and security of the organization's data assets. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure data governance policies are adhered to, overseeing data management processes, and providing support to users in accessing and interpreting data. The Data BPX plays a pivotal role in maintaining accurate data for decision-making and compliance with industry regulations.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Governance:

  • Implement and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality and consistency across the organization.
  • Define and maintain data ownership and accountability models for key data assets.
  • Collaborate with business units and IT to ensure data is managed and maintained according to governance standards.

Data Quality:

  • Monitor and assess the quality of data, identifying issues related to data completeness, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Develop and implement data cleansing and validation processes to ensure data quality.
  • Provide support to teams to resolve data-related issues and ensure data accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain Excel templates and macros to check data quality for user inputs.

Data Management:

  • Know data sources and targets, transformation rules, and usage of data.
  • Ensure that data is stored, archived, and retrieved efficiently and securely.
  • Maintain data dictionaries, metadata, and other documentation to facilitate clear understanding and usage of data across departments.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of master data and reference data management processes.

Data Lifecycle Management:

  • Manage the data lifecycle from acquisition and creation through retirement, ensuring data is used appropriately throughout.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to ensure data is available and accessible when needed while adhering to data privacy regulations.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work with data owners, business users, and technical teams to define and implement data standards and processes.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between different business units to ensure data consistency.
  • Provide training and guidance to business users on data policies, standards, and best practices.

Compliance and Security:

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Work with the IT security team to ensure that data access controls and security measures are in place.
  • Support audits and reviews to ensure data management practices meet regulatory requirements.

Reporting and Analytics Support:

  • Support data analysis initiatives by ensuring the availability of clean, accurate, and well-organized data.
  • Assist in the development of reports, dashboards, and data visualizations as needed by business units.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and business intelligence teams to identify data-related needs and opportunities.

Process Improvement:

  • Optimize the processes on how we manage the data in o9/DL

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Data Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and data lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with database systems, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Proficiency in data management tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, data governance platforms, data catalog tools).
  • Understanding of data privacy laws and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certification in Data Governance or Data Management (e.g., DAMA, CDMP).
  • Experience working with data analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Understanding of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Very good level in Excel, ability to create and maintain macros.
