This international position offers the chance to engage with a diverse network of colleagues across our European brands. As the NFR Finance Support Specialist; you’ll have a broad range of tasks, varying from financial analysis and reporting to being involved in various projects and ensuring the integrity of all NFR (Not-for-Resale) sourcing activities throughout the region.

You will be joining the EU&I Finance BPP (Business Planning & Performance) team for Ahold Delhaize Europe & Indonesia. Our goal: to deliver clear insights into the finances for the European organization, drive consistency in deliverables and ensuring quality work for our 12 brands as their financial thought partner. The role will be focused on NFR Finance.

The NFR Finance team is responsible for delivering high-quality services in the realms of reporting, planning, and assurance services. Additionally, the team is engaged in setting up and implementing financial processes for new business initiatives while regularly looking for ways to improve current activities. This encompasses both internal (management) reports and reports for external purposes. NFR Finance is part of the overarching EU Finance team.

Key responsibilities of your role

  • Your role will focus on providing financial controlling support to the European NFR sourcing team, which is tasked with sourcing all non-merchandise goods for all of our European brands. You will actively engage with NFR sourcing managers and country managers, supporting them with financial data critical to them doing their jobs. You will work with NFR leaders, assisting them in identifying potential areas of savings opportunities. You will work closely within a small team of financial controllers dedicated to serving NFR. You will have a keen eye and interest for process improvement, with efficiency and accuracy as your guiding principles.
  • This position offers an exceptional opportunity to embark on a journey within an international Finance team or grow within one of our amazing brands! You'll participate in ongoing deliverables, becoming an indispensable part of the team. You'll also attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions. Beyond your colleagues, you'll also engage extensively with peers from Belgium, Serbia, Czech Republic, Romania, and Greece, communicating about your responsibilities.

Furthermore, your responsibilities are:

  • You'll scrutinize contracts through a 'Finance lens,' ensuring the accuracy of calculations behind contracts.
  • You'll liaise with colleagues from various European countries, thereby establishing a valuable international network.
  • You'll collaboratively report on the NFR department's performance with your team.
  • You'll manage and optimize our databases.
  • You'll participate in various projects and financial analyses.
  • You'll be the financial point of contact for all European NFR colleagues.
  • Contributing to the monthly reporting process in Power BI.

Requirements

  • Have a degree in Business Administration/ Finance/ Economics
  • Demonstrate excellent written and communication skills in English
  • Demonstrate strong analytical insight
  • Have experience with PowerPoint and Excel. Power Bi skills are a plus.
