The internship

Come join the Social Sustainability and Human Rights team and contribute to our efforts in creating a positive impact.

Main responsibilities & projects

  • Assist with upskilling the Global People Function on HR related Code of Business Conduct topics like harassment and discrimination.
  • Collaborate with the Global People community regarding their role in the follow up of Workplace Grievances and the implementation of a new technical solution.
  • Support in the upskilling of our Global Trusted Representatives Community by developing and co-facilitating online workshops.
  • Assist in the upskilling of our People Case Manager Community to improve their Speak Up investigation skills.
  • Gather insights to further inform decision making, including benchmarking and trend monitoring.
  • Help create communications and messaging on Speak Up HR/People and behavioural topics.

The department

As an intern you'll be an integral part of the Global Social Sustainability and Human Rights team, which ensures that how HEINEKEN does business in its own operations and across its value chain respects people’s dignity and human rights.

The terms of employment

  • Your starting date is 1 February 2025
  • The internship is fulltime (in consultation also 4 days a week possible)
  • The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor)
  • It is a practice-oriented internship
  • You will be based in Amsterdam, with a hybrid way of working (3 days office, 2 days at home)
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross per month (based on 40 hours per week)
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on 40 hours per week)
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed

The start of your internship

Your team and the People partner within Global People will support your onboarding. Furthermore, you can connect with other interns doing internship within the Global People function and other department.

The unique you!

  • Currently pursuing a degree in social studies, human rights, HR or any related field
  • Ability to prioritize and to work in a structured way on projects and individually
  • Great team player and eager to learn
  • Proficiency in English: written, spoken and interpersonal

Conditions of HEINEKEN

  1. You are enrolled at an educational institution.
  2. In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution.
  3. In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  4. Physical presence at the location of your internship. We believe that you learn most when you can work directly with your colleagues. It is therefore not possible to work completely remote and HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing.
