Food Safety Officer

Roveg Fruit B.V. is a leading importer and exporter of exotic fruits from around the world. Our Food Safety department acts as an important link from before purchase until after sales. We are currently seeking a full-time Food Safety Officer to join our team.

About the Role: As a Food Safety Officer at Roveg Fruit BV, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of food safety. We are looking for a driven and passionate individual who understands the importance of the entire supply chain, from grower compliance to customer compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute, maintain, and implement quality and food safety documentation that meet legal requirements.
• Plan and execute residue sampling (contact with Purchase, Sales, Support, Sample takers, Laboratories).
• Process and evaluate residue analysis reports and communicate results and findings to suppliers and customers.
• Prepare supplier assessments based on residue evaluations.
• Contribute to the long-term vision for Food Safety at Roveg Fruit B.V.
• Act as an important point of contact for the commercial department.

Requirements:

• Completed MBO-4/HBO education, preferably in food/agriculture/horticulture or equivalent.
• Accurate and skilled in administrative tasks, with 1-2 years of experience in related fields such as pesticides, microbiology, heavy metals and contaminants.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch/English (written and spoken); proficiency in German and/or Spanish is preferred.
• Be part of the Food Safety Team of 4 total, including the Food Safety Manager.
• Analytical and detail-oriented.
• Affinity with fruit and vegetables and familiarity with quality systems is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint).
• Possession of a driving license (B).
• A hands-on mentality, reliability, responsibility, and a solution-oriented approach.
