The Portfolio Optimization team within Eneco Energy Trade is responsible for optimizing financial results, mitigating long-term risks, and thereby contributing to the energy transition.

Here, you’ll play a key role in managing and optimizing Eneco's energy portfolio, balancing market prices, weather, cash flow, and risk factors. This role provides a unique opportunity to combine analytical insights with strategic impact, driving value in a sustainable portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

As Portfolio Manager, you’ll be entrusted with Eneco’s Power, Gas, and Certificates portfolio. You will:

• Drive P&L for Eneco’s portfolio, identifying and capitalizing on market trends.
• Collaborate with internal teams—Structuring & Origination, Retail, Business, and Trading—for insights and strategic alignment.
• Report on portfolio positions, MtM (Mark-to-Market), P&L (Profit&Loss), and financial risks, while managing tools, reports, and operational execution, expanding them to meet new market needs.
• Develop and execute hedging strategies, actively contributing to structured deal design.
• Build business cases and valuation models for commodity flows, especially for structured deals.
• Analyze regulatory changes, ensuring sustainable and cost-effective implementation across sales channels, with a primary focus on Eneco’s Certificates portfolio.

Requirements

You are adaptable, analytical, and proactive, with a proven track record in dynamic environments. Your skills include:

• Academic degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel (Python is a plus).
• Ability to structure and improve critical business processes, with a keen eye for detail.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a competitive and results-driven approach.
• You are commercially minded, and working in a trading environment with P&L responsibility appeals to you.
• Proactive leadership qualities, able to identify opportunities and manage risk.
• Proficiency in Dutch is a prerequisite for this position.
