The 2GW Operations division is currently being set up in order to optimally prepare for the operational phase of the 2GW Grid Connection Systems, both on- and offshore in the Dutch sector of the North Sea and to contribute operational experience during the construction phase.

Your contribution:

In your role as an Operating Engineer – Low Voltage & Auxiliary systems, you actively develop concepts and processes together with your colleagues and the Grid Connection Managers to prepare for the operational phase of the 2GW Grid Connection Systems in the coming years. Upon completion of the commissioning and handover you will follow the facilities into operation and take part in the safe, efficient and effective management of operations and maintenance of our Grid Connection Systems.

  • You ensure that operational requirements are taken into account and safeguard that existing maintenance strategies can be applied or adapted as required to ensure the long-term availability and technical integrity of the facilities.
  • Quality improvements or process optimizations.
  • Furthermore, you are capturing and reviewing lessons learned and actively contribute to ensure continuous improvement of our Operational Readiness Framework.
  • Occupational safety and health are of utmost importance to us. Therefore, you actively contribute to a safe and healthy working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

Your profile and background

  • You are an intrinsically motivated personality who appreciates working in a dynamic, diverse and international team. As a fast learning team player, you contribute to an exceptional team cohesion and demonstrate strong coordination and planning skills.
  • You have a degree or certification in Installation Technology, Operational/Process Technology, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering. Alternatively, you have a comparable educational qualification and relevant professional experience, preferably in the field of offshore operations & maintenance (Oil & Gas or renewables).
  • You are having 5-10 years of hands-on experience with complex low voltage and tertiary systems combined with a strong affinity and operational experience with SCADA systems, interpreting SLD’s and P&ID’s, and applying them practically.
  • Preferably you are already nominated or qualified as (A)VP to BEI or NEN, for both high and low voltage, with having a WV certification seen as an advantage, or with a willingness to achieve said certification for both high and low voltage.
  • You are willing to work across locations and countries. Occasional travel in North-West Europe is part of your everyday professional life and you have a driving licence.
  • You have good verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and/ or English

As this position involves working in an offshore environment, medical suitability for potential offshore assignments as well as fitness for working at heights is required

This will be our challenge

Grid Field Operations is executing Field Operations, Maintenance and (Baseload) Projects. We ensure the integrity and safety of our assets entrusted to us, while also ensuring their maximum availability. We make sure that the onshore grids of TenneT is reliable in Germany and the Netherlands.
