Regulatory Affairs Specialist In this challenging role, you are the specialist that has a good understanding of global, regional, and local regulatory requirements and pressures, and the driving forces behind them. The position requires an in-depth knowledge in the regulatory field but also a high level of social skills to maintain the necessary network and contacts with many internal and external collaboration partners. You are actively involved in the developments of regulations that are of critical importance to the success of Stahl’s businesses. The position is based in Waalwijk, the Netherlands. The Global Product Stewardship organization has specialized and committed colleagues on several sites in Europe. Responsibilities:
- Ensure regional product compliance by providing regional and global regulatory expertise.
- Responsible for facilitating registration/ notification processes on a regional level in a timely and cost-efficient way.
- Proactively monitor and interpret relevant regulatory developments/ trends and communicate their implications and evaluate business impact for the region and globally.
- Prepare all necessary PSRA information/documentation and maintain/archive product data, documents, decisions, and assessments in accordance with legislation and other internal requirements.
- Acts as senior advisor in answering (complex) regulatory enquiries from customers and other stakeholders.
- Evaluating the product portfolio to Regulations globally.
- Handling requests for/ assessments on new raw materials, intermediates, and formulations.
- Contacting suppliers and/or manufacturers for additional information in case of chemical data gaps.
- Advising R&D and business about new products, R&D projects, and market introductions.
- Supporting work for European harmonized Poison Center Notification project.
- Prepare responses to (inter-) national legislation facilities questions and other regulatory correspondence.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with regulatory authorities, consultants, and specialists to shape the regulatory environment.
Your experience and skills:
- Graduated in chemistry or relevant chemical field education with a bachelor or master's degree.
- Minimal experience of at least 5 years within chemical substance notifications in a similar position within authorities, consultancy agencies, or industry.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements of chemical products in the EU, Asia and/or US is preferred.
- Able to understand and interpret complex information and data and to communicate solutions to business.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels.
- Capable of persuading and convincing others to another point of view or opinion.
- Ability to handle and combine diverse information streams without losing overview and end-goal in mind. Identify key issues of a project or subject, identify consequences and how to proceed.
- Eagerness to learn about challenges worldwide and make sure that you are a business partner for international colleagues.
- Good communication skills in English (verbal and in writing), preferably Dutch (additional languages are plus).
- Good skills in Microsoft Office Applications and in SAP/EHS/Product Safety.
- Proactive & interpreting attitude.
- You are an inspiring and optimistic person who likes to work together with the team to get the job done.
What do we offer?
- Salary from €5000 to €6000 based on 40 hours per week excluding 8% holiday pay
- A 13th month (8.33%)
- You start with a one-year contract and if the collaboration is successful, there will be an extension for an indefinite period
- This concerns a position for 32-40 hours a week in Waalwijk
- Travel costs: €0.21 per km for a maximum of 50 km one way when traveling to the work address.
- Good pension scheme (employer contribution = average 19%, employee contribution up to an annual salary of €50,048.00 (2024) premium-free, above that 7% employee premium
