As a Design Engineer Apprentice, you’ll be the one who turns ideas for products or processes into designs. Working closely within a multifunctional team, you’ll generate detailed designs using 2D and 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems. You will need to select and define suitable materials, tolerances, processes, and protective finishes, giving consideration to the manufacture and lifecycle items.
The system must ultimately meet both our customer's stringent safety requirements and bring leading-edge performance to give a competitive advantage wherever applied.
Successful applicants will form part of a multi-disciplined Engineering development team involved in the development, design, manufacture, and test of a number of new and legacy munitions products for UK and export customers.
The degree you will study for is a BSc in Mechanical Engineering at The University of South Wales, Treforest on a day-release basis. Apprentices are required to supply their own laptop for university work.
