This role is based in our Head Office in Margaret Street, London, and sits within the Insight & Data department.

This is a great opportunity for a talented and ambitious graduate in software engineering or web development to spearhead the creation of analytical applications for one of the world’s leading real estate companies. Savills Insight & Data department is expanding their web development capabilities, to support our market leading Operational Capital Markets (OCM) division in the development of analytical tools and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Working alongside data managers and analysts, the successful applicant will be using React to design, develop and deploy bespoke applications to meet internal and external client reporting needs. As a result, the role requires a working understanding of the following:

  • Web application (Design and Development)
  • CSS
  • JS
  • Node
  • SQL

Full stack experience is also welcomed, particularly with a Python-based API. Experience of Azure App Services is also beneficial.

The successful applicant will have an interest in new technologies, with an ability to self-teach and also to communicate their knowledge to others. They must have good communication skills, work well as part of a team, and have an appreciation of basic design & UX principles.

Key Skills

  • Knowledge of Figma, and Leaflet, MapLibre, or equivalent webGIS would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Azure SaaS, PaaS &/or IaaS would also be advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or other related discipline.
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of database principles and data structures.
  • Good understanding of software development methodologies, processes, and principles.
  • A strong appreciation of UX/UI principles.
  • Understanding of Business Intelligence, dashboard, and reporting tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or Logi Analytics would be advantageous.
  • Positive under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and work prioritisation skills, managing multiple tasks through to completion.
  • Ability to use initiative to troubleshoot and offer alternative solutions.
