The Internship

Drive the visibility of People Operations by developing a communication plan and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You'll enhance efficiency, elevate the employee experience, and implement an action plan based on employee satisfaction insights to boost overall engagement.

During the internship, your will have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive communication plan to increase the visibility of People Operations, ensuring employees understand how we contribute to making their employee journey a success.
  • Help foster a continuous improvement mindset within the team by turning challenges into opportunities, translating lessons learned into actionable steps to enhance the quality of our work and overall employee experience.
  • Assist in creating a continuous improvement agenda focused on increasing efficiency, ensuring we prioritize activities that add true value to the employee experience.
  • Contribute to shaping and implementing an improvement plan based on employee satisfaction survey insights, aiming to boost satisfaction. This includes designing a reporting format to track and monitor progress over time.

To achieve this, you will collaborate closely with various People Operations teams, including Support, Hiring, In-employment, and Systems & Solutions. Additionally, to ensure comprehensive process improvements, you will engage with colleagues from People Business Partners, Rewards, Legal, and Recruitment whenever necessary. This collaborative approach will help us capture and enhance end-to-end processes effectively.

The Department

Your internship is part of the Transformation Office team within the People Operations department, the heart of all HR processes. We manage everything from Hire to Retire, ensuring a smooth and positive HR experience for over 4,000 employees in the Netherlands. As a shared service center for multiple HEINEKEN operating companies in The Netherlands, each with unique needs, our work is both rewarding and dynamic. This is all accomplished with the support of an amazing team of approximately 40 dedicated colleagues who are passionate, collaborative, and always striving to make a positive impact on our employees' journeys.

The Terms of Employment

  • Your starting date is 1 February 2025.
  • The internship is fulltime.
  • The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor).
  • It is a practice-oriented internship.
  • During your internship, you have the flexibility to work in a hybrid setup.
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross pm based on 40 hours per week (when you start at the 1st of January 2025).
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime).
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed.

Conditions of HEINEKEN

  1. You are enrolled at an educational institution.
    1. In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution, from which we receive proof of enrollment for the current academic year from you.
    2. In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  2. Living in the Netherlands during internship (HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing).
