Job Description: IT Change Specialist Contract: Hybrid Working Location: Staines TW18 3DZ / EC2R 7HJ / Salford M50 3SP Permanent Salary range: £55,000 - £60,000 (Neg – depending on exp.) The IT Change Specialist is accountable for delivering individual technology projects or contributes to delivery of large projects and initiatives in a regulated environment using Waterfall, Agile or a combination of both. How you’ll help us make health happen: Project Delivery & Accountability: Oversee the complete delivery of IT projects, ensuring adherence to agreed plans, budgets, quality standards, and timelines. Proactively manage risks, resolve issues, and handle corrective actions or change requests throughout the project lifecycle. Coordination & Alignment: Coordinate activities, dependencies, and critical paths to align with project goals. Project Planning & Management: Develop and manage optimized project plans, resource requirements, budgets, critical success factors, and key milestones for all IT projects. Team Roles & Responsibilities: Ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities for all team members involved in the IT project. Business Case Contribution: Contribute to business case documentation and ensure all work follows the appropriate governance process. Financial Reporting: Provide accurate and regular financial forecasts and reports to stakeholders. Team Leadership: Direct and motivate the project team within a matrix management organization. Governance & Frameworks: Align with Bupa’s IT project governance and delivery frameworks. Cost Reduction & Outcome Improvement: Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve outcomes throughout the project duration. Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively engage and manage internal/external functional teams and third parties. Standards & Procedures: Ensure IT projects are managed according to agreed standards, methods, and procedures. Escalate issues and implement solutions in line with the established change control process. SAFe Framework Leadership: Lead and manage large-scale, business-aligned cross-functional IT projects using the SAFe framework. Agile Facilitation: Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to clearly define and achieve project goals. Progress Tracking: Track and report on project progress, including scope, timeline, risks, and budget. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by identifying and addressing bottlenecks and inefficiencies within the team and processes. SAFe Adherence: Ensure teams adhere to SAFe principles, practices, and guidelines. Coaching & Mentoring: Serve as a coach and mentor for team members on Agile best practices and SAFe methodologies. Dependency Management: Manage dependencies between teams and align cross-functional teams for smooth project execution. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including executive management, providing status updates, issue escalations, and progress reports. Program Increment Planning: Contribute to Program Increment (PI) planning, manage risks and dependencies at the program level, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Meeting Facilitation: Set up, lead, and facilitate steering committees and project meetings. Continuous Improvement Support: Support a continuous improvement ethos within the IT Change community. Code of Conduct: Adhere to Bupa’s code of conduct and values. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: Project Management: Expertise in IT, technical, or digital project management with a proven track record of successful project delivery. Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of common technology components. Risk Management: Ability to manage risks, issues, and dependencies effectively. Methodologies: Strong knowledge of project methodologies and delivery techniques. Certifications: Project Management qualifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are desirable. Commercial Acumen: Experience in commercial and vendor management. Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated skills in managing and engaging stakeholders. Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of delivering presentations. Resource Management: Experience in managing project resources and costs efficiently.
