About us

Get on board with Damen Naval, along with more than 1,200 professionals based in Vlissingen, Schiedam, Romania, Germany, and Indonesia. We are the marine division of the family-owned Damen Shipyards Group which employs globally 12,000 professionals. Damen Naval supplies advanced naval vessels to customers all over the world. With a passion for technological innovation and sustainable solutions, we continue to push the boundaries in the shipbuilding sector. You can be part of our team! Are you ready for duty?

THE ROLE

Damen Naval is seeking for an Engineer Systems Analysis to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in creating system models for complex naval vessels, describing their functional behaviour, and ensuring traceability of requirements through Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). You will guide project teams in systems analysis and modelling processes, support tool integration, and assist in modelling functionality and requirements. Your role also includes supporting the requirements engineering process, including traceability, analysis, decomposition, verification, and validation (V&V). You will collaborate with system architects, design engineers, subcontractors, and customers to ensure the successful delivery of our projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As Engineer Systems Analysis, you will:

  • Define and update the systems analysis and modelling processes.
  • Maintain the Systems Modelling Management plan, detailing the process.
  • Actively engage with and provide support to various modelling and design teams.
  • Assist in the requirements engineering process and the V&V process.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and customers.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

As Engineer Systems Analysis you need to have:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, preferably in (naval) shipbuilding.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles.
  • Experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and requirements engineering.
  • Knowledge of the Arcadia Method and experience with CAPELLA (or equivalent MBSE) tools.
  • Experience with IBM Rational DOORS is a plus.
  • Key competencies: team-player, conscientious, communicative, proactive, and planning-oriented.
  • Mastery of the English language, both written and verbal. The ability to read German is considered a plus.
  • Excellent antecedents because a pre-employment security screening is a standard part of the recruitment procedure.
  • Permanent multiyear EU citizenship combined with permanent EU work visa are all requirements of the recruitment process for viable candidates, given the military nature of clients and projects.

WHAT WE OFFER

At Damen Naval, we highly value our employees, and we will support your professional and personal development. We also provide our employees with:

  • A competitive salary and 8% holiday pay.
  • 27 holidays and 13 ADV days.
  • Travel allowance of 23 cents per kilometre.
  • PME-pension arrangement with an employer contribution of 60%.
  • Profit sharing based on company results.
  • Working from home policy and other benefits including a bicycle plan and company fitness.
