At Damen Workboats, our goal is to develop, design, and construct a portfolio of tugs, dredgers, ferries, and high-speed craft workboats in the most effective and efficient manner, primarily based on series production of smart-customized standard designs. We are seeking a Junior Engineer Mechanical, for our Damen Workboats Engineering High-Speed Craft department.

Your role

As a Junior Engineer Mechanical, you will have the opportunity to play an important role in the development and optimization of mechanical systems for our vessels. This position is perfect for recent graduates or professionals with up to 3 years of experience who are eager to further develop their skills in shipbuilding and mechanical engineering.

Key accountabilities

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in designing and optimizing mechanical systems for our vessels, ensuring compliance with industrial standards and classification requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Support the monitoring of engineering progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Contribute to the client, class, and national authorities' approval processes.
  • Ensure the appropriate quality of engineering work within one or more projects at a technical level.

Quality consciousness and a practical approach are in your nature. You are proactive, creative, and work accurately. Additionally, you meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical (Maritime) Engineering;
  • An interest in innovation and an open mindset to new technologies;
  • Enjoy working in a team, effective in planning and organizing, willing to learn new skills, and results-focused;
  • Good communication skills.
