Your Role

As a Technical Manager, you are responsible for the technical execution of challenging wet infrastructure projects in the field of mechanical engineering (steel), electrical engineering, and industrial automation. You oversee the entire design process, acting as the liaison between the project team, clients, and external stakeholders. You ensure optimal technical execution, monitor quality, and guarantee project completion within the set schedule and budget. Your responsibilities include:

  • Understanding complex technical challenges and translating these into a manageable and well-thought-out design process;
  • Guiding the entire design process within the multidisciplinary project team;
  • Leading technical teams comprising specialists in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and industrial automation;
  • Serving as the technical contact for the client and the overall project team;
  • Preparing key documents such as the Technical Management Quality Plan and HSE Design;
  • Overseeing the appropriate approach and methodology throughout the various design stages;
  • Reviewing technical documents and specifications, ensuring accurate purchasing specifications and critical documents;
  • Involving production and site management during the construction process and providing advice where necessary;
  • Ensuring the design process is completed within the set schedule and budget limits.

What We Expect

You will be expected to make a difference daily to perform at your best for our clients. We demand this from all our employees, including you as a technical manager. To excel in your role, you maintain oversight and are a team player. We also expect:

  • A completed HBO or university degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering;
  • Extensive experience with multidisciplinary projects within mechanical engineering (steel), electrical engineering, and industrial automation;
  • Knowledge of projects in the (wet) infrastructure;
  • Experience working in IPM project teams and knowledge of systems engineering;
  • Experience with various contract forms and contracting is a plus.
