Graduate Legal Company Secretarial - BAE Systems

Start Date: 8th September 2025

BAE Systems offers a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. For this Graduate programme, you are expected to attend the site a minimum of 3 days per week, across Stirling Square and Frimley. Please note, this may change based on business needs.

Excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced FTSE 30 company secretarial team. This role provides training on a wide range of core company secretarial activities and introduces UK company law and corporate governance practices.

What You Will Be Doing

The Company Secretariat team assists with the administrative management of the listed company and its subsidiaries. They play a key role in the communication between the board of directors, company shareholders, and senior leadership team, ensuring high standards of corporate governance. As a Company Secretarial Graduate, you will work within the Company Secretarial team, part of the wider BAE Systems Legal function. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to build a foundation for your career and work with various stakeholder levels.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Form relationships with key stakeholders, including Finance, ESG, HR, Treasury, Tax, and Legal, to support corporate governance projects.
  • Support the team during the preparation and delivery of the BAE Systems plc Annual Report and Accounts.
  • Assist in drafting and releasing regulatory stock exchange announcements and related notifications/submissions.
  • Help ensure compliance with statutory requirements, listing regimes, corporate governance requirements, and best practice.
  • Assist in the delivery of the BAE Group’s all-employee and executive share plans under the guidance of more senior team members.
  • Maintain the statutory records for the UK subsidiary companies on a global corporate database and timely filing of relevant documentation with Companies House.
  • Assist with departmental projects and ad-hoc company projects.

Skills

As a minimum requirement, you'll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s degree and be willing to pursue a professional qualification (Chartered Governance Institute).

Upon commencement of employment, you will be paid a one-off non-consolidated lump sum payment of £2,000 (the “Welcome Payment”). This payment is subject to normal deductions and will be paid with your first salary payment.
