Nielsen Sports Consulting Role

In the highly competitive world of sports, it's critical to use effective media and advertising strategies to communicate offerings to a mass audience. Nielsen Sports provides essential services to clients, helping them to measure, analyse, and interpret the effectiveness of their advertising and investments, and to make sound economic decisions.

As part of the Consulting International Team, you'll advise clients on the effectiveness of their sports and entertainment marketing strategy and identify areas for improvement. You'll work closely with International colleagues to understand specific client needs and requirements and use this information to answer clients' key business questions, combining data from different sources in the Nielsen Sports product portfolio.

Responsibilities

Team & Capacity Management
  • Positively contribute to capacity management across the international team, facilitating the allocation of the best possible resource to each project and task regardless of location.
  • Continue to support communication between internal teams in a positive, constructive manner.
Solutions & People Development
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities to innovate, optimise, standardise, and automate Consulting offerings, where appropriate.
  • Support the development and standardisation of strategic products for use with broader client base.
  • Support team members with people management responsibilities, promoting the importance of regular check-ins, learning opportunities, and ongoing feedback.
  • Identify and support learning requirements for Consulting International team members to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Set a positive culture of collaboration across teams and borders.
Revenue & Business Development
  • Support the Sales teams to identify key domestic/international targets and priorities and share new Consulting solutions and successes through knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Lead client proposal allocation, preparation, and interaction with Sales teams, ensuring all proposals meet required quality standards.
  • Active involvement in thought leadership, including key sports marketing trends, working with Marcomm on overarching narrative, Consulting teams on collateral development, and Revenue teams on dissemination with clients.
  • Maintain personal relationships with key growth clients, using strong relationships to generate new strategic opportunities.
Client Management & Delivery
  • Ensure high level of client delivery across Consulting International, supporting clients with strategic decision-making whenever possible; aim to be a trusted partner rather than a service provider.
  • Lead interactions and workstreams with key Consulting International clients.
  • Develop strong and enduring relationships by spending time on client site where possible.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience at top consulting firm, leading strategy and/or management consulting teams.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication English skills and proven successful experience in a client-facing role using this language.
  • Proven successful experience as a consulting project lead, delivering complex client analytical projects, and managing diverse stakeholders.
  • High level of competence using Business Intelligence tools/platforms, especially Microsoft’s PowerBI, and Digital Analytics tools such as Radarly, Social Bakers, Crowdtangle, FanPageKarma etc.
  • Master's degree or higher in a subject where both extensive written and verbal communication skills and advanced mathematical analytical skills are key.
  • Strong understanding of the global media and sports ecosystem, how it is measured, and how advertisers, media, platforms, and fans interact.
