Project Engineer

Damen Services provides its services to the customers of Damen Shipyards as a total services solution provider. We are responsible for carrying out a wide range of service activities worldwide on a commercial basis, resulting from the start-up, deployment, and life time extension of delivered installations and vessels. Major activities include commissioning, repair, warranty, service, and maintenance activities. Additionally, we offer training for crews, ship delivery, maintenance management, and parts supply during construction. As a partner of Damen Shipyards' customers, we also engage in structural and long-term projects.

About the Asset Management Design (AMD) Department

The AMD department, part of Damen Services, focuses on developing and supplying asset management solutions such as spare part packages, vessel operating manuals, maintenance plans, and maintenance analysis. Our products are created by multi-disciplinary teams.

The Role: Project Engineer Spare Part Packages

As a Project Engineer for Spare Part packages, you will provide our customers with Spare part packages based on their budgets and requirements. These packages are delivered on a project basis and can coincide with the delivery of a new Damen vessel or occur later.

You will focus mainly on ships specifically engineered for a customer, ensuring careful monitoring of spare parts impact during the engineering and construction phase. This role requires coordination with suppliers, client interaction, and regular consultation with the supply chain department regarding supplier follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Compiling and mapping complete spare parts packages for Damen vessels.
• Providing correct and careful spare part proposals and offers.
• Setting up projects in the ERP system and ensuring parts are properly purchased.
• Monitoring the quality of the end product, the spare part package.
• Managing and preparing logistics routing for delivery to the yard or end customer.
• Ensuring quality and financial results of projects.

Skills and Experiences

• HBO technical education in Logistics or equivalent.
• Experience with technical maintenance in industry or shipping and spare parts knowledge is a plus.
• Good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• Strong ability to integrate technical, logistical, and commercial aspects of assignments.
• Able to work well under time pressure.
• Accurate, orderly, customer-oriented, quality-conscious, strong communicator.
• Team player with a hands-on mentality.
