The pre-clinical team at Merus is looking for a Senior Technician with a talent for cell biological techniques!

The Team

The preclinical team studies the mechanism of action of our bispecific antibodies and plays an important role in the discovery of ground-breaking new medicines for the treatment of cancer. As a team member, you will be part of an international organization where everything you do contributes to our company’s mission: closing in on cancer.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Technician - Cell Based Assays who thrives in a collaborative environment. In this role, you will work in the preclinical department and contribute to the development and execution of cell biology experiments. As Senior Technician, your main responsibilities will be the following:
  • Conduct and analyze high-quality experiments
  • Mammalian tissue culture using 2D and 3D culturing methods.
  • Perform cell-based functional assays, including primary immune cells, to characterize antibody responses.
  • Draft SOPs and protocols, ensuring meticulous documentation in lab notebooks and reports.
  • Present data at team meetings, collaborating across departments to support R&D goals.
  • Execute additional duties as required, embracing new techniques, and contributing to innovative research.

Your Profile

We are looking for a candidate with ample experience with cell-based assays. You thrive in dynamic environments and have a collaborative personality. You enjoy adopting new laboratory techniques and have a meticulous eye for detail to every task. Requirements:
  • A BSc or MSc in Cell Biology, Immunology, or related fields.
  • 3 yrs of post-graduate experience in cell biology techniques and the capability to design and execute experiments independently.
  • Extensive experience with mammalian tissue culture and primary cells, experience with 3D culturing methods is a plus.
  • Relevant techniques include: FACS, cytotoxicity assays, co-culture assays, imaging techniques, ELISA.
  • Experience with 96-well plate handling (is a plus).
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with data analysis, reporting tools, alongside a commitment to lab safety.
