Your Position

As a data engineer, you will deliver data intelligence solutions to our customers globally, based on an innovative product that provides insights into the performance of material handling systems. Your task will include implementing and deploying the product and designing solutions to fit customer needs, working alongside an energetic and multidisciplinary team to build end-to-end data ingestion pipelines and dashboards.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data & dashboarding solutions to maximize customer value.
  • Communicate directly with end customers to address their needs effectively.
  • Deploy and automate data pipelines and dashboards to enable further project implementation.
  • Embrace working in an international, diverse team with an open and respectful atmosphere.
  • Leverage data by making it available for other teams to enable our platform vision.
  • Communicate and collaborate closely with other groups within Vanderlande and the project team.
  • Drive, support, promote, and improve (software) standardization platforms and processes.
  • Develop engineering project plans, schedule the project team, and manage progress.
  • Independently and self-reliantly work, with proactive communication to provide the best solutions.
  • Participate in an agile team, share improvements, concerns, and blockages, create stories, and engage in refinement processes.
  • Collect feedback to seek opportunities for improving the existing standardized product.
  • Execute projects from conception through client handover, positively impacting technical performance and organization.
  • Lead communication with different stakeholders involved in project deployment.

Your Profile

  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
  • Skilled at breaking down large problems into manageable parts.
  • Experience in guiding, motivating, and training engineers.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with building and deploying complex data pipelines and data solutions.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
  • Experience with NoSQL and unstructured data; event processing tools like Splunk or the ELK stack.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with visualization software, preferably Splunk (or else PowerBI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with programming in Python.
  • Experience in data engineering using DevOps principles.
  • Experience with data schemas (e.g. JSON/XML/Avro).
  • Experience in deploying services as containers (e.g. Docker, Podman).
  • Experience in working with cloud services (preferably Azure).
  • Experience with streaming and/or batch storage (e.g. Kafka, Oracle) is a plus.
  • Experience in creating APIs is a plus.
  • Experience in data quality management and monitoring is a plus.

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 4600 to € 5505 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
