At Picnic, we’re revolutionizing the way people buy groceries with our innovative and sustainable app-only service. Picnic offers you the opportunity to work in an innovative scale-up culture where everything you do matters. With a human-centered approach, we have built an incredible service. Testing on a weekly basis, we rely on customer insights to help us evolve our service. We are looking for a UX Researcher to strengthen our growing UX Research team.
As our UX researcher, you will work collaboratively with Data Analysts, Product Owners, and Designers to develop the full user experience of Picnic’s products. With an open personality, you’re able to empathize with end-users on a weekly basis, whether that’s by guiding users through prototypes or investigating a new topic.
Half of the week, you initiate, plan and execute hands-on research activities. The other half is used to observe and analyse user behaviour and communicate those insights effectively to various teams and stakeholders. You experiment with research approaches to answer important questions. How can we make in-app customer service more accessible? How do customers decide what to eat? How can we make delivering our groceries safer for our runners? Every week presents new challenges to explore, frame, and evaluate. Understanding both the big picture and the details, you examine insights from unique angles to bring a deeper understanding of customer experience and provide testable hypotheses.
You combine quantitative and qualitative insights to help build new design features. You are an instigator, outcome-driven, and an excellent communicator. Your ideas make customer interaction more tailored, developed, and engaging. With both curiosity and initiative, you drive design decisions to help shape the future of in-app grocery shopping.
You’ll get plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself and grow, including the Picnic Tech Academy, Lunch & Learn sessions, and tailored soft skills training. We also offer free professional weekly language courses.
You’ll work in an awesome scale-up environment with the freedom to drive your own projects and create a visible impact. Our fully electric vehicles and sustainable business model mean you’ll also be contributing to making the world a better place!
With more than 80 nationalities across 3 countries, you’ll be part of a diverse company with plenty of cool stuff to get involved with, from board game evenings to after-work drinks to our company ski trip and more!
You’ll get freshly prepared, healthy lunches and snacks (with plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and halal options). Coffee snob? Don’t worry, our amazing Picnic barista has you covered.
Mental health is important. As well as having the option to speak with Picnic colleagues who act as confidential advisors, our collaboration with OpenUp gives you easy access to professional psychologists, along with workshops and materials. There are plenty of sports communities and events to get involved with, from tennis to yoga to climbing!
We offer competitive compensation and a pension plan that looks out for your future self as well as 25 vacation days per year, so you can recharge your batteries.
Where possible, we like to enable people to work in ways that suit their working styles. Our teams generally work 4 days per week at the office (the tasty lunch and Barista-made coffee may be a factor).
