Visual Designer at Picnic

Picnic is a human-centered brand in a digital world. We provide a better way to help every family enjoy good food every day, that is most affordable, hassle-free, and sustainable. We cut out the unnecessary, so we can enjoy the essential. In the rush of daily life, Picnic puts smiles on people's faces with its authentic and innocent style. Our playful and non-gimmicky qualities ensure our communication resonates on a personal level, building trust in a lighthearted way and adding a subtle dose of delight to everyday life.

If you're a passionate Visual Designer, we're offering you the opportunity to join the team at our Amsterdam HQ and help shape the visual direction of Picnic's campaigns and in-app promotions.

Note: this is not a UX/UI design job.

🥜 In a Nutshell

At Picnic, we're always looking to create the best shopping experience for our customers, by making it as easy as possible to find the right products, while also inspiring them to try something new. At the design level, there is the continuous challenge of the small design space, as everything must fit on a small screen. The Store team is responsible for doing just that: improving the shopping experience, telling Picnic's story, and showing the right campaigns at the right time, to make sure customers stick.

As a Visual Designer, you'll join a team of Designers, Store Managers, Promo Coordinators, and Copywriters. Together, we shape Picnic’s campaigns that play a vital role in showcasing our assortment and driving conversion. The deliverables include all visuals for a promo campaign in-app, from the start of a communication initiative until go-live. You think along with the design briefs, develop campaign visuals, and help shape Picnic’s visual identity. Each project, we aim to learn more about our customers and the commercial success of our campaigns.

🎯 What You’ll Do

  • Create and update promotion campaigns in our app
  • Create and update product presentations and campaign visuals in our app

  • Work and learn from experienced designers, photographers, and business stakeholders internationally (Netherlands, Germany & France)
  • Research retail trends and conduct competitor reviews to keep the team up to date
  • Collaborate with the UX/UI team to create the best experience for our customers
