Job description

In the role of Process Engineer you will be assigned to one of our challenging FPSO projects. Together with more senior process engineers, you contribute to the process design of the facility’s production and utility systems. You utilize your knowledge of process technology, engineering methods and application of engineering standards and procedures to complete your work, ensuring that the process design is properly translated into Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, Datasheets and other documents. Meanwhile you develop yourself further as a professional in the field of process engineering. As you are curious and like to learn, you like to stay abreast with the current and latest technology developments and industry engineering standards.

Furthermore you will:

  • Contribute to define to the overall process scheme in the most efficient and cost effective manner to meet Client specifications and project/commercial constraints;
  • Develop concepts, determine impact on overall design (Cost, Schedule, Process Control, Process Safety, Equipment Selection, Layout, Materials etc.) and perform debottlenecking studies;
  • Setup process simulation models (using UniSim or Hysys software);
  • Perform equipment sizing and hydraulic line sizing calculations;
  • Ensure that required Process Safety design principles are incorporated in the design;
  • Provide input to Operating and Maintenance manuals;
  • Provide process input to other engineering disciplines;
  • Provide assistance to construction, offshore commissioning and start-up of an FPSO project;
  • Ensure compliance with SBM Group Technical Standards, Group Engineering Standards, corporate processes and engineering work instructions as well as maintaining the quality of the deliverables and achievement of process discipline objectives.

Job requirements

We are looking for candidates with a few years of relevant process engineering experience and a relevant technical university degree or higher educational level in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. You are highly interested in our business and looking for an opportunity to develop yourself further in process engineering and project execution skills.

You have the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant Process Engineering experience in Oil & Gas production facilities;
  • Process simulation (using UniSim or Hysys software);
  • Familiar with relevant international standards applicable to hydrocarbon processing industry, such as API, ISO, ASME, IEC, etc;
  • Familiar with design review methods, such as HAZID and HAZOP.
