Achieving optimal management and service provision in the areas of analysis, coloristics, fabric properties, and raw materials, ensuring that quality, time, customer, and cost requirements are met while conducting guiding analyses and research.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Policy

Formulating policy of Service Laboratory, in line with the organizational guidelines and according to laws and regulations in the field of health, environment and safety to achieve an optimal balance between the short- and longer-term service needs and availability of the services (equipment and personnel) and required costs.

Budget

Drawing up a budget and taking care of its realization, in order to be able to carry out optimal service needs in an efficient and effective manner.

Planning and execution

Drawing up annual planning of people and resources and taking care of their implementation so that the laboratory activities are carried out effectively and efficiently and in accordance with the service issues and (legal) rules with regard to health and safety, environment, service and quality.

Leadership

Ensuring an optimal staffing, including assessing, coaching and developing employees.

Information and reporting

Ensure complete documentation/information and periodic reports of existing production machinery and installations and equipment, based on internal supplier guidelines and regulations, in such a way that maintenance can be carried out efficiently.

Maintenance and improvement

  • Perform first-line maintenance and management of existing analysis tools to ensure and optimize fast and reliable progress of tests and analyses;
  • Maintain and manage equipment and analysis instruments and workplace in accordance with the requirements of working conditions, safety, environment and reliability;
  • Liaising with external firms regarding equipment maintenance;
  • Periodic checking and calibration of analytical instruments so that the validity of the (quality) checks and analyses is guaranteed;
  • Maintain the analysis index and databases;
  • Creating standard measurement programs on equipment;
  • Drawing up and improving work instructions and methods and specifications, taking into account the required (ISO and NEN) standards.

Guidance Analysis and research

  • Supervising running lab tests and trials for the purpose of solving quality problems, process control, process improvement and projects related to production processes with specialization dyes, chemicals and cloth;
  • Preparing reports for internal use, client and/or supplier;
  • Making calculations;
  • (Vocal) explanation of reports to customer/client;
  • Processing analysis/research data and results;
  • Identifying and assessing measured values.

Suggestions for improvement and advise

  • Making improvement proposals and giving advice on the basis of structural (problem) analyses and based on chemical / analytical knowledge and skills in optimizing and developing new processes, products and recipes / raw materials;
  • Providing advice on the application of the services available from the Service Laboratory to complex chemical, coloristic and physic-analytical issues;
  • Expanding the possible relevant analysis out of the existing equipment and data/results.

Relationships

Maintaining contact with internal customers or external suppliers to ensure an efficient and effective service and implement new developments.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • HBO qualification or thinking;
  • Background in chemical/textile engineering;
  • Project management;
  • People management and leadership skills;
  • English and Dutch language (in word and writing);
  • Knowledge of quality systems;
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC);
  • Laws and regulations, in the field of safety, health and the environment and specifically on laboratories;
  • Communication skills.
