Job purpose Reporting to Director Network and DC Planning, the Sr. Manager Core Network Capacity Planning will lead a team across Liberty Global, supporting brands like Virgin Media, VodafoneZiggo, UPC and Telenet. This role will deliver services across the operating countries and Aorta network. This role will be responsible for quality, delivery timelines and continuous improvement activities across the Core capacity planning domains. Assuring the organisation’s plans are reliable and exceed the sponsors’ expectations thus contributing to the overall customer satisfaction. Key Accountabilities Provide leadership and management of Capacity Planning duties to operating countries and Core network (Aorta), Data Centre and Cloud Translate business requirements into technical requirements and capacity needs for LG Core network, in-country Core networks and B2B Services. Complete HW & SW/licenses life cycle management including EOL\EOS. Govern IP address management for IPv4 and IPv6 and advocate IPv6 rollout. Govern RIPE management and registration for LG. Domain Names management and registration for LG. Perform regular data centre site audits and maintain stringent access control and adhere to audit guidelines. Forecast, plan and share monthly and quarterly report covering Core network (Aorta) and DC (EOL/EOS), IP & Optical network, Compute, Storage and backup solutions, IPAM & DNS Ensure optimal usage of Liberty Global’s networks and system investments Schedule and drive capacity upgrades on platforms in a timely fashion Perform Operational Impact Assessments of capacity for residential and B2B customer portfolio upgrades and new initiatives Define requirements for forecasting, reporting and cost model for all the planning domains and also build/enhance and automate these functions. Prepare detailed capacity forecast on network based on the business growth and new product introductions for all relevant components Ensure quality and lead initiatives to improve customer experience Proactively identify and execute initiatives which support Core activities Provide Warehouse/shipments process support on purchased HW Lead strong partnerships with country operations to further improve customer experience, service quality & reliability and efficiencies Motivate and lead a Capacity Planning team; coach and develop staff to enhance performance, provide a motivational career progression and build a positive, team-based culture Support creation of the strategic and tactical Core Roadmap Support LG teams on Core M&S contracts Continue to develop and maintain relationships across the Liberty Global teams to ensure the team meet business requirements and are able to support cross-functional activities We tend to look for people with: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience required Demonstrated ability in Telco or Cable Operator environment.. International experience in leading teams of diverse nationalities and cultural norms. Prior experience in IP, Optical and Internet network capacity planning in large operation Familiarity with OSI Model, Ethernet, IP, MPLS, BGP, IP peering and RIPE/DNS Familiar with network tools such as Wandl/StableNet, Arbor, Zenoss, InfoBlox, EasyIP, Possesses management skills, with emphasis on interpersonal and negotiating skills and the ability to motivate staff Shows the ability to delegate effectively, whilst maintaining full management control Proven experience of building and leading high quality, results focused teams within an organisation undergoing high levels of structural and cultural change Resilient and adaptable and able to work well under commercial and timeline pressure and thrive on being given challenges and responsibility Analytical skills to review, identify and develop improvement plans Ability to organize and manage multiple, and at times competing priorities Leadership Expectations: Co-creates and executes strategy.
