As a Barclays Enterprise Architect, you’ll partner across Consumer Bank, Payments and Group Controls CIO/COO and wider organisations to align business, data and technology strategies to maximise the value of technology investments, managing the balance between cost, short and long term needs, control and commercial value. This is an exciting role to ensure that solutions are assessed through the appropriate governance processes and are consistent with data and technology strategy, standards, policies and design patterns.

Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, established in 1690, with a legacy of success, quality and innovation. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive, and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

Communicating strategy and architecture to the banks wider technical community

Supporting architects, engineers and analysts in ensuring project deliveries align to strategy and roadmaps

What we’re looking for:

Knowledge of products and services across financial services industry (including trends, future development)

Experience of working in a matrix environment demonstrating ability to manage definition of complex solutions across multiple functional areas

Experience in software engineering, delivering reusable components in distributed architectures

Proven experience providing solid guidance and roadmaps/transitionary architectures to achieve modernisation of legacy applications and data landscape

Skills that will help you in the role:

Ability to effectively challenge the status quo, applying a fresh perspective to business and technology problems

Experience to bring together colleagues to find the right solutions for the business

Architect with a financial services background and digital background
