Damen Logistics operates the central warehouse, transport coordination, inventory management and customs department committed to ensuring timely deliveries. With 1,000 different suppliers annually and more than 500 destinations and customers worldwide, no day is the same.

THE ROLE

In your role as Supply Chain Engineer you will be responsible for process improvements. This includes setting up and monitoring the supply chain reporting, challenging and coordinating the (ERP) settings and the results to optimize the use of the supply chain. You will be located in the Logistics department to create an overview across all logistic activities mainly on quality, logistical and costs elements and to instruct, advise and support the Logistics department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this role you will be:

  • Setting up and monitoring reporting for the logistics team;
  • Analyzing (ERP) data and deriving and executing improvements in the Supply Chain setup based on the analysis results;
  • Initiating and executing improvement programs in the logistics team and potentially with suppliers to improve flexibility and lower total cost;
  • Evaluating and challenging the (project) teams for correct registration and maintenance of information within the ERP system;
  • Having a proactive attitude about suggesting improvements within the supply chain processes. Supported by process control, analysis and measurable results (KPI).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role you bring:

  • A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Willingness to learn ERP systems, particularly SAP, and proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools, such as PowerBI, is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in optimizing and supporting supply chain processes.
  • A pragmatic approach to complex issues with a results-driven mindset.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English;
  • Ability to communicate and connect effectively at various organizational levels.
  • Strong enthusiasm
