About the team

Our Finance department at Thales Netherlands consists of ~50 team members organized in four different competence centers (clusters):

  • Central Accounting & Sales Administration
  • Financial Engineering & Treasury
  • Bid & Project, Industrial and Procurement Control
  • Financial & Budgetary Control

The team is responsible for the actual forecast, strategic business plan and budget processes of departments and entities of Thales Nederland. The cluster is also responsible for internal control and subsidy control. And we're looking for you!

About your future job

As a Financial Controller you will be responsible for the whole planning and control cycle of the subsidies of Thales Nederland. Key tasks will be:

  • Financial contact person for subsidies (internal & external)
  • Assessing new subsidy proposals
  • Drawing up internal & external progress reports
  • Responsible for the actual, forecast and budget processes of subsidies (e.g. sales, costs and cash-flow)
  • Finalizing a subsidy project (together with the accountant)
  • Sparring partner for project leaders
  • Participate in improvement projects

Why you'd be a good match

We are looking for a pro-active and hands-on candidate with a passion for finance who likes to work in an informal and international environment. You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance and about 3 - 5 years of work experience in subsidy control (preferable EU & NL subsidy projects). Speaking and writing both English and Dutch fluently is no problem for you. Curious by nature, you don't hesitate to speak up and question current processes.

The ability to understand complex processes is also a well-developed skill you have. You can tackle subjects on your own, but are a team player at heart who likes to participate in improvement projects. Good communication skills are critical to your success in this role. You'll also need to have a good knowledge of MS Office and affinity with IT/ERP systems (preferably Oracle).

What's in it for you

  • A challenging job in a great team within our high-tech, innovative work environment. Includes the freedom for initiative and good ideas.
  • Room for personal and professional growth within our organization, for example in regards to technical, commercial or international skills.
  • Valuable international collaboration with coworkers from 68 different countries around the globe.
  • A comfortable work space in a modern environment, with a focus on flexibility and the right work life balance.
  • You can usually work where and whenever you want. Within Thales, we aim for a 60/40 balance, where you work from home at least two days a week, when your role allows this.
  • A good salary, fitting travel allowance, and the ability to personalize your employment conditions: for instance, you can trade PTO for internet costs, our bicycle plan, company fitness and relocation costs.
  • 40 days off per year (PTO). Yes, really.

With 80.000 talents working in 68 countries, we are one of the biggest high-tech employers in the field of safety and security. In the Netherlands, where 2500 employees are based, we are located in four cities: Huizen, Delft, Eindhoven and Hengelo (HQ).
