This role is at the center of our Holding team in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. We’ve got a mix of skills here, from Finance and Hospitality to Recruitment, People & Culture, and Marketing. Think of us as the backbone of the company, keeping things running smoothly and helping out everywhere we can. We’re the ones who answer questions, toss around ideas, offer support, and plan those fun outings and initiatives everyone loves. We’re the reliable crew that everyone counts on to keep things rolling.

JOB PURPOSE

Are you a problem solver, with an interest in M&A, who would like to gain working experience within a fast-growing and private equity-backed global agency? We are looking for an M&A Intern to support the M&A team.

The M&A team drives DEPT® ’s buy and build strategy of acquiring brilliant companies across the globe that accelerate DEPT®’s growth and add strategic value and capability.

As an M&A intern, you will play a key role in supporting the M&A Director on all touchpoints of a deal. In your role you will be involved in deals from beginning to end; from mapping out the market and searching for new agencies that want to join DEPT®, to the execution of the actual transaction and everything in between. You will keep our pipeline of opportunities up-to-date, support in the preparation of indicative offers, work alongside external due diligence advisors to make financial, commercial and strategic analyses and engage with various (senior) stakeholders within DEPT®, while preparing for signing and closing of the transaction.

For this role, we are seeking someone who is based in the Netherlands but appreciates working globally. We are a fast-paced, fast-growing company that demands flexibility and the ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.

At DEPT®, you will work with clever minds who work for a variety of large global projects. We are eager to hire the most talented experts in the game, but we are also looking for a fit with DEPT® and its culture. Someone who is eager to learn, inspires, strives towards a better world, takes the stage, a futurist at heart, and likes to toast to a successful week with us. We strongly support diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Have an interest in M&A and the digital services industry;
  • Are eager to learn, with a can-do attitude;
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment on a global scale;
  • Are you in your (pen)ultimate year of your bachelor, or currently doing your master’s degree in Finance or another relevant field;
  • Are a great communicator and fluent in English;
  • Are currently based in the Netherlands at a reasonable commuting distance from our Amsterdam or Rotterdam office;
  • Have an excellent academic background;
  • Are available 2 days per week from September 1st for 5 or 6 months

WE OFFER:

  • DEPT® has been named a Great Place To Work in 2023 – in the Netherlands and has been a Certified B Corp® since 2021 -award winning in the best way possible.
  • Awesome clients. Whether big, small, local or global — at DEPT® you’ll get the opportunity to work with all of them. And we celebrate all of our successes together!
  • A monthly allowance + internet allowance.
  • Opportunities to develop your skills even further through training and certifications.
  • Everything to focus on your health: from free bootcamp to yoga lessons, mindfulness sessions, mental health services, serious discounts on sport memberships, healthy lunches at the office, and above all: a safe work environment.
  • Great fringe benefits; use of OV-bikes, an NS Business Card and many other goodies.

WHO ARE WE?

We are pioneers at heart. What does that mean? We are always looking forward, thinking of what we can create tomorrow that does not exist today. We were born digital and we are a new model of agency, with a deep skillset in tech and marketing. That’s why we hire curious, self-driven, talented people who never stop innovating.

Our culture is big enough to cope and small enough to care. Meaning, that with people across 30+ countries, we’re big enough to provide you with the best tools, global opportunities, and benefits that help you thrive. While acting small by investing in you, your growth, your team, and giving you the autonomy to solve our clients’ problems, no matter where you are in the world.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION

At DEPT®, we take pride in creating an inclusive workplace where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive. We actively seek to recruit, develop, nurture, and retain talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, with varying skills and perspectives.

Not sure you meet all qualifications? Apply, and let us decide! Research shows that women and members of underrepresented groups tend not to apply for jobs when they think they may not meet every requirement when in fact they do. We believe in giving everyone a fair chance to shine.

We also encourage you to reach out to us and discuss any reasonable adjustments we can make to support you throughout the recruitment process and your time with us.
