As an intern in the Business Control team at The Social Hub, you will be pivotal in creating an allocation model for the operational costs tailored to the unique demands of our hybrid hospitality business model. This role presents an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience in financial analysis within the context of the dynamic and fast-paced hospitality sector. you will be part of the Finance department at the headquarters of The Social Hub in Amsterdam – The Support Hub.

What you’ll do

  • Gather, organize and analyze financial data related to operational costs.
  • Collaborate with the team to create and optimize an allocation model that effectively distributes the operational costs among our different operational entities (“Hubs”).
  • Establish allocation methodologies that reflect the diverse nature of The Social Hub's hospitality portfolio.
  • Conduct testing and validation of the allocation model to ensure accuracy and reliability in cost allocation outcomes, including variations in seasonality & location.

Who you are

  • You are currently studying at a Dutch HBO/university and living in the Netherlands pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the hospitality industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Analytical master mind capable of breaking down complex problems and identifying patterns
  • Affinity for allocation models and management accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic business environment.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Available for an internship of minimum 6 months starting in September 2024.
