Introduction to the job

Are you in the early stages of your career? Do you aspire to become an ASML leader where creativity thrives, challenges are embraced, and leadership potential is nurtured? At ASML we strive to be a force of good in the world by solving some of society's toughest challenges. This can only be achieved by empowering unique people – is this you? Kick-start your leadership development with our 3-year, cross-sectoral, management traineeship. Dive into diverse roles and learn from a world-class team of engineers and scientists.

Role and responsibilities

Through our management traineeship, you will unlock your potential and develop a well-rounded understanding of ASML. Every 6 to 12 months, you will rotate into a new and diverse assignment (leading to 4 assignments in total). You will have the opportunity to undertake various roles within different technical sectors at ASML. While you’ll operate in a technical environment, your role will not require a focus on any specific technical expertise. Instead, the assignments will challenge you to incorporate various skills and a high over perspective to find a solution.

As a management trainee (in technology), you will:

  • Be able to make your mark by leading, and potentially creating, your own assignments, each holding a high-over technical component with concrete deliverables.
  • Work in an inclusive environment with projects aimed at enhancing efficiency, innovation and/or product development.
  • Follow a tailored training program to develop your leadership skills, strategic mindset, and interpersonal capabilities.
  • Be guided by both a senior manager and a coach, who will empower you through your journey at ASML.
  • Collaborate with fellow trainees and colleagues at all levels of the organization and build up a broad network.

Education and experience

Performing well under pressure and thriving in a fast-paced environment is essential to succeed as an ASML management trainee. Here, you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree in any kind of technical background.
  • Maximum 6 months of relevant working experience.
  • You completed your education less than 1 year ago or will be fully graduated before 1st August 2024.
  • Availability to start the traineeship on September 1st, 2024.
  • Preferably – but not mandatory – experience in extracurricular activities, such as serving as part of the board for a student association or volunteer work.

Skills

Working at the cutting edge of technology, you will always have new challenges that arise and new problems to solve. Working together is the only way to achieve this. You won’t work in a silo. Instead,

you’ll be part of a creative, dynamic work environment where you’ll collaborate with supportive colleagues. There is always space for creative and unique points of view. You’ll have the flexibility and trust to choose how to best tackle tasks and solve challenges.

To thrive in this job, you’ll need the following skills:

  • Ability to understand the big picture and align efforts accordingly.
  • Capacity to think creatively and innovatively with willingness to adapt to diverse situations.
  • Ability to build and nurture relationships and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A sense of curiosity, resilience, learning agility, and a flexible mindset.
