As a Barclays Development Lead, you will play an active part in driving the long-term development of the collateral management platform. This is an opportunity to have direct responsibility of delivering prioritized work items to support the business needs, provide leadership to the local Glasgow development team and build effective relationship with the global CMCV team and stakeholders.

What will you be doing?

Delivering complex change in an agile environment, good business knowledge of derivatives and team leadership experience


Being responsible for improving and developing practices, code quality, testability and reliability


Providing technical oversight to the development team to ensure solutions meet high quality, performance and reliability standards to guarantee seamless client experience


Promoting continuous process improvements in development practices, code quality, testability & reliability


Being responsible for incorporating knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices to inform solution design


Delivering on critical business priorities while evolving platform towards its strategic vision


You will be responsible for developing and test resilient, scalable, and reusable services and APIs utilizing latest frameworks and libraries


What we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Computer Science or Information Technology


Proven experience leading multi-regional development teams in Agile environment


Experience architecting and developing large scale, distributed, service oriented, low latency, high volume, resilient, secure applications Solid fundamentals in DevOps, CICD, Containers


Experience in Object Oriented Languages (C#, Python), Micro Services, Distributed Caching, Messaging Platforms, RDBMS Solid fundamentals in DevOps, CICD, Containers

Skills that will help you in the role:

Experience architecting and developing large scale, distributed, service oriented, low latency, high volume, resilient, secure applications


Experience in Object Oriented Languages (C#, Python), Micro Services, Distributed Caching, Messaging Platforms, RDBMS /NoSQL (MongoDB)
