Internship: Soil health in Regenerative agriculture

The key challenges in this position are to process and synthesize soil sampling data collected in different dairy farms working towards Regenerative agriculture in The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.

You will be contributing to the growth of FrieslandCampina and its cooperative by providing knowledge on the status of soil health and how it can be improved by farming practices.

What we ask

To be successful in this position, you are/have:

• Current student with EU nationality or enrolled at a Dutch educational institute.
• A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the area soil quality, environment, sustainable farming systems; animal production systems
• Knowledge on soil sciences and dairy
• Knowledge on statistical analysis
• Experience on reviewing literature
• Excellent communication skills
• Data collection and processing
• Domain of Dutch language is preferred

Vacancy description

We aim to know which are the most suitable methods to evaluate soil quality in The Netherlands. To achieve this, you will be in close contact with FrieslandCampina’s “Farm Sustainability” team on collecting and synthesising soil data for farmers and interacting with farmers, scientists and decision makers.

You will be responsible for:

• Collecting data, processing and performing statistical analysis
• Communicating outcomes of different soil analysis to the research team and farmers.
• Communicating your results to different stakeholders
• Designing a sharable database with findings
• Write an internal report with your findings and methods applied
