Rates Electronic Trading Test Automation Engineer

As a Barclays Rates Electronic Trading Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for performing activities related to test strategy definition, requirements analysis, testcase creation, test automation framework development, CI/CD pipeline implementation, and QA processes application of an in-house electronic trading application used by the Fixed Income Rates business as per the key accountabilities described below.

What will you be doing?

Collaborating with business analysts and senior QA/DEV team members to analyse requirements and finding the most appropriate method for functional verification

Designing, developing and maintaining of test automation framework and its usage for automation of defined test scenarios

Creating and maintaining of CI/CD pipelines and leveraging their existence to provide efficient and stable orchestration of production code testing

Managing and executing of a release testing including responsibilities of formal release signoffs

Participating in definition and enhancements of overall QA strategy and processes within the product life cycle

Maintaining and enforcing project standards ensuring they are adhered to as well as proactively adding new standards whenever possible

Reporting progress against assigned activities in a timely manner

What we’re looking for:

Excellent Java programming skills

Experience designing and developing test automation framework and experience with definition of test strategy covering different levels of testing pyramid

Ability to create and maintain test case repository with optimal and categorization

Ability to get explore and understand business logic of a complex systems

Skills that will help you in the role:

Ability to understand, implement and influence complex problems and solutions with an analytical approach to root cause identification and proactive design improvement

Knowledge and understanding of standard development and build tools, e.g. GIT, Maven, Gradle, TeamCity, Jenkins

Utilising Agile Development methodologies, Test Driven Development and Continuous Delivery
