Financial Crime Software Engineer

As a Barclays Financial Crime Software Engineer, you will be required to meet the development requirements on the Screening platform that uses Oracle OWS products along with Unix and Oracle as database. This role will be required to support and drive various initiatives being driven in the Financial Crime Screening space. Other key roles and responsibilities involve stakeholder management, documentation, coordination between various delivery function teams for new, or existing, Barclays’ software applications and information systems

What will you be doing?

Delivering applications to technical specifications

Reviewing /validating the technical solutions and changes proposed and improving systems by studying current practices

Leading and driving all agile ceremonies (planning / stand-ups / retro etc.) to ensure high velocity is maintained

Identifying repetitive or time-consuming processes that can be automated, especially where they benefit multiple business areas

Consuming and producing data from a variety of sources, outputting where necessary to downstream applications, or updating the source.

Designing developing and delivering innovative and tactical solutions to benefit the finance community

Identifying and resolving problems, working closely with the onshore solutions managers

Working on a variety of deliveries/initiatives and managing the IPR of the bank and also managing key technology and business stakeholders through effective communication

What we’re looking for:

Excellent knowledge of working on UNIX environment with exposure to one or more well-known UNIX flavours such as IBM AIX, HP-UX, Red Hat Linux

Bachelor’s Degree from a reputed institution with relevant work experience

Has excellent knowledge of RDBMS concepts such as primary keys, joins, indexes, triggers, cursors etc and has worked on at least one project involving pl/sql, stored procedures

Knowledge of CICD, DevOps, source control, unit and integration testing, continuous integration, release management, and other software development practices

Skills that will help you in the role:

Preferable to have end to end knowledge of Sanctions/Screening data flow and Having Alert Workflow management experience is preferred

Has worked on at least one WebServices related project; real time applications related to Customer Screening Application

Has good knowledge of at least of Apache TomCat, IBM Websphere or any other well-known webserver

Knowledge of Core Java, J2EE, Spring or EJB, Hibernate, Basic SQL, JSP, JMS or any MQ technologies

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
