Our mission is to produce more food with less input. We believe in making high-performance cultivation more accessible, thereby contributing to a secure food supply. We are helping breeders improve crops, and growers improve yield or save costs with data-driven insights in crop behavior. We do this by developing ultrasound sensors that can 'listen' to plants, something that has never been done before.
Plense.tech was founded as spin-off from the TU Delft and WUR. Our startup consists of roughly 8 ambitious employees and students between 19 and 28 years of age.
Graduation project High-Tech Engineering
As a graduate student, you will research and design ultrasound hardware to generate data. This means developing ultrasonic transducers and testing different microphones. Next, you will map the response of the different hardware components on the quality of the data that is extracted. You will investigate different speaker-microphone configurations and the effect of the output signals. For example: what is the effect of a multiple speaker system on the observed signal and where should these speakers be located within the sensor system?

We build smart sensing devices that listen to plants and convert crop status into actionable data, thereby empowering growers to make informed, data-driven decisions. Because our vision is to empower growers to nourish the world's growing population while safeguarding our planet's boundaries, by making greenhouse cultivation easy, efficient and accessible through next-generation ultrasound technology. Join us in our mission of producing more food with less farming.
