For our headquarters in Amsterdam, we are looking for a full-time Project Lead Future Fuels with a focus on our Advisory activities.

The advisory team supports relevant players in the aviation industry, such as jet fuel suppliers, airlines, airports, corporates and investors, to navigate their transition to net zero. As a Project Lead you will initiate and lead the advisory-related opportunities. About SkyNRG

SkyNRG is a global leader in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Since 2010, the company has been scaling up SAF demand and production capacity for the industry to meet its 2050 net zero commitment. To date, SkyNRG has supplied SAF to over 40 airlines across the world and is now developing dedicated production facilities to support the shift from fossil jet fuel to sustainable aviation fuel. As a certified B Corp™ SkyNRG prioritizes producing the most responsible and sustainable SAF worldwide. Recognized as a sustainability leader, it maintains an independent Sustainability Board, which advises the company on feedstocks and provides strategic guidance on wide-ranging sustainability issues. SkyNRG’s operations are certified by RSB and CORSIA. In November 2023 Macquarie Asset Management announced its 175 M€ investment in SkyNRG, enabling our further growth in the SAF industry.

About the role

The Future Fuels team has 3 focus areas:

  1. Early-stage Capacity Development: initiating and executing the first development phases of our commercial-scale SAF production facilities
  2. R&D: building and sharing knowledge to develop SAF technologies and concepts with our technology partners
  3. Advisory: supporting key players in the aviation industry to navigate their transition to net-zero, through creating SAF strategies and building SAF knowledge

As Project Lead Advisory, you will lead external advisory projects leveraging SkyNRG’s thought leadership in Sustainable Aviation Fuels. Projects range from educational workshops on SAF to tailormade SAF strategies for global stakeholders. In many projects, you will closely work with the Future Fuels team, where the focus is on compensated opportunities that in parallel lead to extending our knowledge position and understanding the potential for capacity development in specific regions.
You will conduct both technical and economic analyses, develop business cases, write SAF strategies, deliver presentations and actively seek new advisory opportunities. You will play a crucial role in strengthening furtherSkyNRG’s knowledge position: performing analyses on the jet fuel market, SAF production capacity, feedstock availability and technological readiness of SAF production pathways.You will report to the Head of Future Fuels and work closely with analysts in the Future Fuels team. You will also get the freedom to further refine our advisory offering to develop new opportunities.

Your profile*

As a growing company in a rapidly developing industry, we are looking for someone who likes to play an active role in building out our business and is not afraid of change. Ideally, you recognise yourself in the following:

  • Relevant Master’s Degree (preferably technical or economics-related).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience (a background in consulting is preferred).
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; comfortable with technical topics
  • Entrepreneurial, independent, and persistent character.
  • Strong affinity with sustainability.
  • Fluent in English (both written and verbal).
  • Willingness to travel regularly.
  • Enjoys a scale-up environment and possesses great social skills.
  • Eligible to work in the Netherlands.
