At G-STAR, the Sustainability Department has been working since 2006 to integrate sustainability into the core of the business. The team continues to accelerate progress on key priorities such as the use of sustainable materials and implementing circular design solutions. Ambitious goals for 2025 and 2030 focus on increasing the use of recycled and organic materials and further implementing circularity throughout the entire value chain. In 2018, G-STAR presented the world’s first Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold denim fabric through Our Most Sustainable Jeans Ever, and has continued innovating and scaling the use of these sustainable fabrics. By providing more sustainable choices, the company aims to make it easier for customers to make a sustainable choice.

As a Sustainability Intern, you’ll help with:

  • Research on specific sustainability topics, both social and environmental.
  • Administrative tasks in software systems to monitor the sustainability performance of G-Star suppliers.
  • Supporting reporting on G-Star’s sustainability performance to relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting supply chain mapping.

What you bring to the table:

  • A hands-on attitude and the ability to work independently.
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • The ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Availability full-time for a period of 6 months starting in August or September 2026.
  • You are already living in the Netherlands and are in possession of a BSN.
  • You are enrolled at a university or college in the Netherlands during the whole length of the internship.
  • If you are a non-EU student in the Netherlands, you are in possession of a mandatory internship assignment.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s background in Sustainability is a strong plus.
  • A strong personality and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

What we bring to the table:

  • An awesome and diverse team that collaborates to inspire.
  • A work environment that offers room for fun, inspiration and innovation.
  • A clothing budget of €400 to buy the latest G-STAR items.
  • A healthy, fresh, and delicious lunch at the HQ in Amsterdam.
  • The possibility to work from home one day per week.
  • Travel expense coverage if you do not have an OV student travel card.
  • Two paid days of leave per month.
