About Us

At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core. And innovation is everywhere.

Role Description

At Booking.com, our Partnerships team builds strategic relationships with global brands that help drive growth at scale. By combining technology, data, and commercial collaboration, we create seamless partner experiences - from API integrations to co-branded opportunities - that reach new customers, grow revenue, and strengthen our position as a global leader in travel.

We’re looking for an API Specialist to help support and improve the performance of our API ecosystem. In this role, you’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to analyze API performance, support partner integrations, and turn data into actionable improvements that enhance partner experience and business outcomes.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with data, and getting to the root cause of issues - and who is excited to learn how APIs and large-scale platforms work in a real-world environment.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Monitor and analyze API performance metrics for assigned partners
  • Identify patterns, issues, and opportunities to improve partner performance
  • Support the development and improvement of dashboards and monitoring tools such as Grafana and OpenSearch
  • Support API partners and internal teams with technical questions and troubleshooting
  • Help onboard new partners and guide them through integration processes
  • Investigate issues and contribute to scalable, structured solutions
  • Join commercial partner reviews to identify technical improvement opportunities and agree follow-up actions
  • Translate recurring partner and internal feedback into clear, actionable insights
  • Support Product teams with data-driven input to improve API features and functionality
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Commercial stakeholders to resolve issues and improve performance
  • Improve API documentation, internal knowledge resources, workflows, and support processes
  • Explore opportunities to increase efficiency through automation, tooling, and emerging technologies such as AI
  • Contribute to reusable templates, playbooks, and best practices

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Basic experience working with APIs
  • 1–3 years of experience in a relevant field such as operations, support, analytics, or another technical or problem-solving role
  • Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity to get to the root cause of issues
  • High attention to detail and a structured way of working
  • Confidence working with data and identifying patterns or inconsistencies
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn, improve, and make an impact
  • Strong interest in learning how systems integrate, product and performance optimization

Nice to have

  • Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools
  • Exposure to dashboards or monitoring tools such as Grafana, OpenSearch, or similar
  • Understanding of JSON or XML
  • Experience working with partners or cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience improving processes, documentation, or workflows

Benefits & Perks

  • Annual paid time off and generous paid leave scheme
  • Hybrid working including flexible working arrangements, and up to 20 days per year working from abroad (home country)
  • Industry leading product discounts - up to 1400 Euro per year - for yourself, including automatic Genius Level 3 status and Booking.com wallet credit
