Principal Product Manager - Identity

Adyen, as a full-stack payment processor and licensed global banking institution, gathers data on shoppers, enterprises, and small businesses. We see the behavior of billions of shoppers and millions of small businesses globally, while capturing the complex interactions between them. This data forms the foundation of our Dynamic Identification capabilities, and is a key competitive differentiator for our business.

We are hiring a Principal PM to lead our Identity platform - the collection, transformation, and application of Identity data for the company. This senior, highly visible leader will ensure that identity data is high quality, integrated into product offerings across the company, and leveraged to launch new identity-based products that capture emerging opportunities and deliver value to our merchants.

What You’ll Do

Set Vision & Strategy

  • Define and own the long-term vision and strategy for Adyen’s Identity product, grounded in customer value, measurable business impact, and responsible growth.
  • Translate opportunities into clear priorities, roadmaps, and success metrics across customer segments and verticals.
  • Simplify an ambiguous space by defining clear, and actionable Identity use cases with your engineering and partner teams.

Drive adoption of Identity data at scale throughout Adyen

  • Partner closely with downstream product teams to help them define new ways to use Identity data that bring measurable value to our merchants.
  • Assess and measure Identity data quality and establish new ways of improving it to support more sophisticated applications.
  • Create the right tooling and access points that facilitate adoption.

Build for Scale & Regulatory Rigor

  • Ensure product decisions balance speed, reliability, compliance, and value.
  • Partner closely with Privacy, Compliance and Regulatory partners to navigate dependencies and regulatory obligations.
  • Design capabilities that are scalable, auditable, and resilient in a regulated environment.

Lead Through Influence

  • Operate as the Product authority for Identity across Adyen.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Commercial, Risk, and Operations teams without direct authority.
  • Raise the bar for product clarity, prioritization discipline, and strategic thinking within the Identity Integrity Risk group.

Who you are

Experience & Scope

  • 10-15+ years of experience in Product Management
  • Proven experience building and scaling complex products based on petabyte scale datasets
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at enterprise scale

Product & Platform Leadership

  • You are a product leader at heart, with deep experience setting vision, adjudicating prioritization, and delivering measurable outcomes through cross-functional teams.
  • You bring a strong analytical and metrics-driven approach to decision-making and trade-offs.
  • You have experience translating ambiguous strategic problems into structured product direction.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Track record of influencing senior stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Regulatory, Operations, and Commercial functions.
  • Comfortable leading through ambiguity and influencing without direct authority.
  • Clear and confident communicator across technical, commercial, and executive audiences in a global context.

Customer-Centric & Principled

  • Deep customer empathy with the ability to translate technical complexity into clear value propositions.
  • Demonstrated ethical judgment and integrity in high-stakes, regulated environments.

This role is based out of our Amsterdam office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
