CDI- Plastics Process Blowing and Injection Manager - Evian les Bains

Within Danone’s Global Engineering Design team, this role supports the industrial strategy for plastics processes on a worldwide scale across the Dairy and Waters categories. The team provides project methodology and technical support for Capex investments and due diligence, works on technological innovation projects with R&D and suppliers, manages knowledge and expertise through global standards and continuous improvement roadmaps, contributes to productivity programs, and supports plant digitalization development.

This highly international position is based in Evian les Bains and involves regular travel worldwide.

Principal responsibilities

• Design reliable and high-performing technological standard solutions for injection, blowing and capping processes.
• Identify and assess innovative and breakthrough technological solutions for injection, blowing and capping processes.
• Ensure implementation in Danone factories by managing engineering and manufacturing networks to achieve Group Safety, Performance and Nature targets.
• Work with the Dairy category on plastic projects to develop best practices and common tools.
• Work with the Digital Engineering team on monitoring and defining software and KPIs.
• Liaise with the R&I and C&P departments to support plastics strategies on SmartWeighing and rPET.
• Support different CBUs on troubleshooting issues.

As the cross-divisional reference for injection, blowing and capping processes, driving the industrial strategy and vision in this area, you will:

• Support regional and local organizations in producing the best bottles in terms of quality and cost, and in project preparation by ensuring deployment of standards and innovative technology in factories, including feasibility studies, CAR preparation, engineering reviews, FAT and commissioning.
• Organize regular workshops in CBUs to improve competencies in injection, blowing and capping processes.
• Organize and lead fundamental training for operational teams.
• Collect know-how and experience from users, experts, suppliers and other Danone WWBUs to improve standard solutions.
• Complete engineering standards with suppliers for injection, blowing and capping processes to reduce safety risks in Danone factories, achieve excellence in execution and installation reliability while improving project timing and costs, and increase quality, energy efficiency and manufacturing performance.
• Manage the network of engineers responsible for injection, blowing and capping processes, encouraging the sharing of innovative solutions and improvement plans.
• Contribute to plastic programs, including smart weighing and rPET, through technologies and methods.
• Manage main suppliers in these domains together with CP and local engineering.
• Travel up to 50% of the time.

Education/training

• Engineer by education.

Languages

• English is mandatory.
• French or Spanish is a plus, but not mandatory.

Professional skills

• Theoretical and technological knowledge in bottling technologies.
• Expertise in injection, blowing and capping processes for the PET bottling industry.
• High level of technical analysis capacity regarding bottle quality assessment.
• Project management skills and experience.
• Experience in supplier management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including network coordination, specifications and formalization of acceptance protocols.
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies.
• Performance improvement and lean manufacturing mindset.
• Ability to work in an international context with international exposure.
• Leadership and strong interpersonal skills.

Personal assets

• 10 to 15 years of experience in injection, blowing and capping processes.
• Autonomous, analytical and able to communicate clearly, with strong pedagogical skills.
• Proven ability to connect easily with engineering functions at plants and CBUs.
• Proven ability to drive change by gaining buy-in rather than imposing views.
• Interest in travel and personal and family capacity for travel periods of up to 2 weeks.
