Job Description

In this role, you will serve as the Communications & Brand partner for the Europe Region and a trusted communications advisor to the Europe Region Leader.

Your role:

Strategic Leadership and Business Partnership

  • Serve as the Communications & Brand partner for Europe Region and trusted communications advisor to the Europe Region Leader.
  • Lead the development of comprehensive communications and brand strategies across Europe markets (outside of Benelux) that align with International Region direction and Philips’ global goals and values, ensuring all initiatives support the company's vision including patient safety and quality, innovation leadership, commercial excellence, sustainability, and customer-first execution.
  • Work on complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company, applying critical thinking and extensive expertise to develop effective solutions.

Reputation and Brand Management

  • Work in daily close contact with the Head of International Region Communications and Brand, and the wider Communications & Brand teams who lead media relations, internal and other activity at a Group level (and in home markets in Benelux).
  • Strengthen brand preference, reputation, and trust across Europe, with a focus on priority markets (outside of Benelux).
  • Lead regional thought leadership programs that reinforce Philips’ leadership position in Europe.

Integrated Communications Execution

  • Serve as the regional connector for communications activity across commercial markets within the Europe Region, ensuring alignment across media engagement, issues and crisis management, and narrative amplification.
  • Lead internal communications for Europe Region, ensuring regional and Group initiatives such as culture programs and leadership townhalls are effectively localized and activated.
  • Support communications colleagues in Europe markets to drive the planning and execution of integrated communications and brand activity, ensuring the seamless implementation of campaigns that effectively reach and engage target audiences.

Digital, Data, and AI Enablement

  • Advance digital communications maturity in market communications activity through analytics, social listening, performance measurement, and content optimization.
  • Embed data-driven insights into planning, audience targeting, and decision-making.
  • Drive adoption of Philips global AI-enabled tools including content intelligence, generative AI, and predictive analytics to improve efficiency, quality, and impact.

Agency Management

  • Optimize market relationships with external communications agencies.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10+ Communications & Brand colleagues in the Europe Region structure.
  • Manage budget allocation to ensure efficient execution of communication and brand activities, maximizing return on investment and achieving strategic goals.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Experience and Capabilities

  • Extensive experience in corporate communications, brand activation, and reputation management within multinational, matrixed organizations.
  • Proven leadership experience across European markets.
  • Strong background in media relations, issues and crisis communications, and executive advisory support.
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital communications, data-driven strategy, and measurement.
  • Practical experience with, or strong working knowledge of, AI tools for content creation, insights, analytics, and workflow automation.

  • Exceptional storytelling, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong strategic judgment with the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Highly effective stakeholder management and influencing skills across geographies and functions.
  • Transformation and change management capabilities with a results-oriented mindset.

  • Knowledge of the health technology or healthcare systems landscape is preferred.

Languages

  • Near-native fluency in English. Additional European languages are an advantage.
