At ABN AMRO, the Network Department is exploring whether AI can take over 15% of the work of a junior network engineer by 2027. This initiative aims to contribute to automation, efficiency, and improved network designs. We apply a “buy before build” principle, meaning existing AI tools are evaluated before developing custom solutions.
Objective
To investigate how AI can support the Network Department through automation and by performing tasks typically handled by a junior network engineer. The research will result in a business case describing feasibility, benefits, risks, and organizational impact.
Main goal
Research how AI can contribute to the Network Department through automation and task execution comparable to a junior network engineer. The outcome of this research is a well-founded business case covering feasibility, benefits, risks, and organizational impact.
