To support KeyGene’s Public Relations and Communications strategy, we are looking for a creative and sharp PR & Communications Officer.

Role

In this role you will shape KeyGene’s communication according to the new corporate strategy 2026-2030. Your work will support both internal teams and various other stakeholders, enhancing KeyGene’s visibility and fostering understanding of the value and impact of our R&D in crop improvement. You will be part of the multidisciplinary Human Resources and Corporate Affairs (HR&CA) department within KeyGene.

Position

You will support and proactively advise KeyGene in the roll-out of the new corporate strategy for KeyGene’s communication by focussing on internal and external corporate and employer branding. You are the ‘go-to person’ in all matters related to internal and external communication. You are the point of contact for our scientists to support them in creating content for social media to engage a broad audience and you coordinate between departments to ensure coherent messaging. You are a versatile and skilled writer of all sorts of textual content for both internal and external use and also enjoy welcoming guests from a wide range of backgrounds (shareholders, customers, student groups, journalists etc.) to introduce them to the innovative R&D-work we do.

Your profile

A background in plant biology and/or plant research is considered an asset but is not essential. You feel comfortable in a scientific environment and are able to translate complex scientific content into clear, engaging messages for diverse audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Biology, Agriculture, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret scientific data and communicate it effectively to non-specialist audiences.
  • Savvy with social media platforms and skilled in adapting content for these channels and audiences to maximize engagement.
  • Excellent writing (both English and Dutch), editing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and social media management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
