In this senior tech leadership role, you lead DevOps teams of around 80 FTE to shape the core that powers millions of daily interactions and ensure that every client experiences the same quality, wherever they meet us. We rely on state-of-the-art technology from leading vendors as well as open-source market standards for web.

You play a pivotal role in unifying experiences, platforms, and capabilities across RBO, RBB, and our global sites. Your mission: enabling standardized personalization, frictionless cross-sell, best-in-class performance, and consistently high customer engagement. With your teams, you build a foundation that accelerates development, strengthens digital coherence, and drives business impact across all channels.

You & your role

You're responsible for the DevOps teams (around 80 FTE) within the area to ensure delivery and continuity of a unified functional foundation used by every digital journey in the bank. You work at the intersection of business, tech, and design — ensuring that our digital channels are consistent, scalable, and ready for the future.

Your decisions directly impact customer perception, app ratings, and engagement levels in both RBO and RBB.

You know how to balance strategic direction with day-to-day operational excellence. You understand how to maximize the value of a shared digital platform and how standardization accelerates the entire organization.

Top responsibilities

  • Delivery of a unified foundation for all customer journeys across RBO, RBB, and global digital channels
  • Manage multi disciplinary teams within the Netherlands, as well as offshore and nearshore
  • Ensuring uptime, performance, and stability in a high-availability environment
  • Managing OOP/Tech budget ownership for this unified foundation
  • Harmonizing experience and architecture across websites, mobile, and shared platform components
  • Ensuring standardized and scalable personalization capabilities across channels
  • Driving adoption and deep usage of platform capabilities, products, and features across all tribes
  • Enabling strong digital engagement and cross-sell (online and offline)
  • Safeguarding high app ratings and customer satisfaction levels in RBO and RBB
  • Stimulating innovation, simplification, and convergence across digital domains

You & your talent

  • WO-level thinking (and education)
  • 10+ years of experience in complex IT environments
  • Broad experience across IT components, preferably in software development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with organizational and restructuring challenges
  • Experience in vendor management
  • Strong organizational awareness and enterprise navigation skills
  • Proven experience in change management (stakeholder engagement, culture, and content focus)
  • Organizational sensitivity: able to quickly gain deep insight into complex, politically sensitive issues with group-wide impact
  • Agile leadership: you understand agility from a management perspective
