About our Team

Our Knowledge Strategy & Innovation team is focused on developing and evolving data enrichment capabilities. We are optimizing search and discovery for enriched data on Elsevier’s Life Sciences products.

About the Role

In this Senior Data Discovery and Enrichment Expert II role, you will be assigned as a Senior Data Discovery and Enrichment expert. You will be a key part of our agile team to support activities around data enrichment, maintenance and innovative development. You will work with other Data Discovery and Enrichment Experts to secure our high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting various content enrichment activities, reference set creation, dictionaries maintenance or development.
  • Stakeholder engagement with product and tech teams – capturing requirements for projects and reporting regularly on improvements and changes related to their product taxonomies.
  • Performing data preparations, data analysis and creating data reports.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams while executing on projects.

Requirements

  • Have a Masters or PhD level in biology, (bio)chemistry or closely related subject.
  • Have experience with Life Science/Chemistry/Pharmacological databases or information systems.
  • Have a good understanding of quality assurance standards or best practices for taxonomy/ontology management and governance.
  • Is experienced in contributing to projects and structuring work to meet deadlines.
  • Be a great communicator with an ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Python, SPARQL, or SHACL would be ideal.
