Product Manager - Core Platform

At HelloPrint, Product Managers are strategic leaders who carve the path to the future. We are looking for a Product Manager for our Core Platform charter. Your mission is to ensure the HelloPrint engine is scalable, secure, and intelligent, providing the "fuel" (data) and the "rails" (APIs) for all other squads to build upon. You will own the Internal Developer Platform and Data Infrastructure, optimizing for reliability, developer velocity, and data integrity across our entire ecosystem. This is a role for a technical strategist who is ready to partner with Engineering Leadership and other squads to build the robust foundation that powers our ambitious growth goals.

As the Product Manager for our Core Platform charter, you are the owner of our platform's stability and intelligence. You operate primarily in a collaborative partnership with a Lead Engineer and System Architects. Together, you decide How to solve complex technical challenges, but you are responsible for defining the Why and the What.

You will allocate your time strategically: 80% on Discovery (analyzing internal user needs, researching architectural trends, and planning data strategy) and 20% on Delivery (provid context to unblock the squad and ensuring we deliver on our commitments). You will work closely with PMs of other squads and business stakeholders, treating them as your primary customers to ensure the API layer empowers them to move fast.

Product Manager, Core Platform

Your Core Focus:

• Infrastructure & Scalability: Ensuring the platform is "always on," minimizing latency, and scaling seamlessly to handle peak traffic and global expansion.
• Unified API Layer: Building and maintaining the standardized "hooks" and microservices that enable other squads to build features rapidly without breaking the core.
• Data Intelligence: Ensuring clean, actionable data is accessible via our Data Warehouse, serving as the single source of truth for core processes throughout our value streams.
• Engineering Enablement: Treating our internal developers as your primary customers. You obsess over developer experience, reducing friction in our architecture so that other squads can self-serve and ship features faster.

Job requirements:

• Technical Pedigree: You have a background as a Technical PM or Software Engineer. You are fluent in APIs, Cloud Infrastructure, and System Architecture. You can hold your own in a technical debate.
• Platform product mindset: You treat APIs and internal tools as Products, not projects. You know how to conduct user research with engineers, manage internal roadmaps, and drive adoption of shared services.
• Data Fluency: You have deep knowledge of Data Engineering concepts and Data Warehousing. You understand how data flows through value streams.
• Strategic Vision: You can translate abstract technical debt and architectural needs into a clear business case.
• Experience: 4+ years of experience in Technical Product Management or Engineering Leadership.

• Curiosity Over Ego: You value the truth more than being right. When your architectural ideas are challenged, you get curious, not defensive. You ask questions to understand perspectives and empower your Lead Engineer to own the technical implementation.
• Radical Candor & Accountability: You care personally enough to challenge directly. You build bridges with other PMs but refuse to accept mediocrity in our codebase or data quality. You set rigorous expectations and hold stakeholders and teammates accountable for shared goals and system reliability.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and containerization (Kubernetes).
• Background in migrating monolithic architectures to microservices.
• Experience working in a "Spotify Model" (Squads & Chapters) environment.
