Sr Buyer - Upstream & Sustainability

About the role

Reckitt is looking for a Senior Buyer for upstream and sustainability management of paper & pulp-based packaging materials, reporting to the Procurement Manager. Based in Amsterdam, this role will be responsible for the procurement of commodities like Solid Box Board, Corrugated Paper, Viscose & other paper and pulp-based products, and will drive sustainability initiatives in this category.

Your responsibilities

In summary, you'll:

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for commodities under scope.
• Monitor market conditions, offering procurement insights based on commodity trends and prices.
• Prepare monthly forecasts and reports incorporating market insights and trends.
• Negotiate contracts and terms of agreement with suppliers to ensure the best possible terms.
• Engage in supplier selection, focusing on optimal service, cost, and quality.
• Coordinate and facilitate communication between internal & external stakeholders to drive various upstream paper projects.
• Ensure that all procurement activities comply with the procurement Operating Model and SOP.

The experience we're looking for

• Bachelor/master’s degree in business, science/engineering, supply chain, or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement.
• Experience with upstream projects or within paper packaging solutions.
• Good English communication skills (oral and written); a second language is a plus.
• Excellence in negotiation, coupled with sharp analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• A proactive nature, adept at balancing multiple tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communicator with solid interpersonal skills for both internal teams and external partners.
• Proficient with procurement systems and the MS Office Suite, enabling swift management of procurement activities.
