AI Engineer - Central Data and Reporting Office

At KPMG in Amstelveen, you’ll join the Central Data & Reporting Office (CDRO) as an AI Engineer to build scalable Generative AI and agentic AI capabilities that accelerate responsible innovation across the firm. Role: AI Engineer - Central Data and Reporting Office

Your challenges

As a Senior AI Engineer within the CDRO, you design, build, deploy and continuously improve production-grade Generative AI and Agentic AI systems. You translate advanced AI capabilities into scalable, reusable building blocks that enable rapid implementation of trustworthy, high-impact enterprise use cases.

You shape and influence KPMG NL’s AI strategy by defining enterprise-wide AI engineering standards, governance, and patterns, combining deep technical engineering expertise with a strong sense of responsibility, ensuring solutions meet high standards for security, privacy, reliability, maintainability and governance. You also contribute to standards, documentation, and knowledge-sharing within the AI engineering community.

This is what you bring

• You hold a degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, with a focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning or data science.
• You have a minimum of 3 years professional experience working as an AI or machine learning engineer in an enterprise environment with 5+ previous experience in an architecture role..
• Recognized go‑to expert across at least two specialized AI engineering fields.
• Strong Python development skills and strong grounding in software engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD, testing, security).
• Hands-on experience with Azure AI services, including Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Foundry tooling (e.g., PromptFlow, Model Catalog, Vector Index).
• Ability to design, deploy and manage custom copilots / agentic solutions using Microsoft 365 Copilot and/or Azure AI Agent Framework.

In addition, you bring broader experience with advanced AI engineering concepts such as multi‑agent orchestration, evaluation frameworks and privacy‑aware AI development. You are familiar with integrating AI solutions into enterprise data platforms and understand secure authentication and authorization patterns. Experience with cloud‑native architectures, APIs and containerized environments further supports your ability to build scalable, secure and maintainable AI solutions.

What will you do?

• Design, build and operate production‑grade Generative AI and agentic AI solutions.
• Develop retrieval, embedding, prompting and evaluation pipelines for enterprise use cases.
• Integrate AI solutions with the Central Data Platform on Azure in line with governance and security standards.
• Ensure reliability, quality and performance through CI/CD, testing and monitoring.
• Collaborate with engineering, governance and business stakeholders to deliver impactful AI products.

• Gross salary between €4,800 and €7,900 per month depending on your work experience, variable performance based reward, a fixed expense allowance and a fixed working from home allowance per working day.
